When launching the WeWALK app for the first time, you will be asked to grant permission for notifications. This will appear as a dialog box. We recommend enabling notifications as these will tell you about new app features.\n\nThe visual preferences screen will then open. If you are a low vision user, you can change these settings to make the app\u2019s interface easier to see.\n\nThe default theme uses black text on a white background. This can be changed to white or yellow text on a black background. The text size can also be changed according to your preferences.\n\nOnce you have completed customizing the visual preferences, tap the \u201cApply\u201d button. The next screen will then tell you about what\u2019s new in the app. Here, you can learn about the changes and features our team has been working on. Tap the \u201cOk\u201d button to go to the next screen. The next screen will request permission to access your location. Location access must be allowed to enable the app\u2019s navigation features.\n\nAfter completing the permissions, you will be presented with the sign-up screen. We recommend creating an account to make full use of the app and future features. To sign up, enter your full name, date of birth, email, phone number, and password, and then tap on the \u201cSign Up\u201d button. You can edit this information at any time from the accounts tab. This information will be kept private and will not be shared with any 3rd parties.\n\nYou will then be directed to the home tab. To connect WeWALK, you must first enable your phone\u2019s Bluetooth. Then, turn on WeWALK by pressing the WeWALK power button, located on the back of the device, for 3 seconds.\n\nWhen the WeWALK power-up tone sounds, tap the Connect WeWALK button in the home tab. Connection must be performed within 2 minutes from turning on WeWALK. If it is not connected during this time, WeWALK must be turned off and on to start the pairing process again.\n\nWhen WeWALK is connected for the first time, the touchpad gesture tutorial will start to show you how to make the most of WeWALK\u2019s touchpad gesture controls. We recommend that you complete this tutorial as these gestures form an important part of the WeWALK experience.\n \nWhen you start the tutorial, a message will appear on the screen telling you how to perform each gesture as you try them yourself on the touchpad. You must perform each gesture as the training instructs you. A \u201cnext gesture\u201d button will appear as you complete each gesture. Tapping this button will take you to the next gesture. Once you have completed the training by performing all the available gestures, tap the \u201cfinish the training\u201d button to go back to the home tab.\n\n\n\n
