First Impressions of the WeWALK Smart Cane 2
Mike expressed his feelings when he first tried the WeWALK Smart Cane 2 as:
“When it became the second one, I was just mind blown exactly how amazing it is. When I got it in my hand, I felt like I had the power. It’s amazing.”
What stood out most for him was how the new version felt more natural, closer to a traditional white cane, but with features that made it even more powerful:
“I like the physical buttons, to have the tactile buttons on it, just to be able to feel it. But also the thing that I liked is just how realistic it is to an actual cane with the handle is being a whole lot smaller. Everything that has been upgraded has been just marvelous.”
Walking with Confidence and Independence
One of Mike’s proudest moments with WeWALK Smart Cane 2 was when he used it to walk to his mailbox, independently, without assistance, for the very first time:
“We used to have our mailbox right out front, but now it’s at the end of the street. I used my cane and walked down there all by myself, and did not run into the trucks, and I was so happy with myself. That was the first time I actually did it by myself, without any assistance.”
For Mike, WeWALK isn’t just about navigation, it’s about confidence, freedom, and empowerment:
“How much confidence and independence it has given me, for someone that has not had real mobility training, is incredible. It’s a life changer; it’s a game changer.”

Mike is deeply committed to supporting products that make a real difference in people’s lives:
“I won’t promote a product that I can’t stand behind. Well, this product, I definitely stand behind it, physically and literally, because it’s just so amazing.”
Like many WeWALK users, Mike is thoughtful about how technology can grow. Therefore, he also suggested making secondary features like the flashlight or vibration controls more accessible through dedicated side buttons, rather than through multi-step commands.
