For Jenny Dawson, a 63-year-old from Perth, Australia, mobility is second nature. Having used a traditional cane for over 40 years, she describes herself as a “very proud older lady who is very independent”. Living as part of a totally independent blind couple with her husband, Jenny has raised two sons and considers herself to be on the high end of mobility independence. Whether using public transport or taxis, she is highly skilled at navigating her community.

Moh Jetha, a London-based retiree with a background in hotel financing and property management as well as a chocolate shop owner, recently faced a significant shift in his life after losing most of his vision within a few months. However, since adopting the WeWALK Smart Cane 2, he describes the experience as a complete “life-changer”.

If this is where we are today, thinking about where it could evolve tomorrow is truly exciting.” These words belong to Ayşenur Otlu, a 24-year-old Translation and Interpreting student. She shared her journey to independence—from Balıkesir to Istanbul, Erzurum, and Bandırma—and how meeting WeWALK transformed her life.

Christopher Clarke is a veteran living in Lexington, Kentucky. After being diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2021, his vision was affected by optic nerve damage during his treatment. While this transition was a significant learning experience, Chris maintains a grounded perspective, stating, “life is good and everything’s okay”.

We recently spoke with Mike Wright, a totally blind and fairly confident traveler who has integrated the WeWALK Smart Cane 2 into his active lifestyle.
