Through a joint partnership with Microsoft, WeWALK developed current technology and future offerings for visually impaired people and their mobility trainers.
What is AI Mobility Training Technology?
AIM (AI Mobility) is developed to enhance visually impaired mobility training using WeWALK’s hardware and software, enabling intelligent data feedback such as cane angle to the ground, sweeping angle, confidence levels, walking distance, number of the steps etc. to smart cane users and Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialists.
This technology collects data on the use of the cane through the sensors of the WeWALK Smart Cane, makes sense of it with the support of artificial intelligence, visualizes it with specially designed screens to facilitate the observation process of the visually impaired cane user and shares it with the Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialists.

Monitoring
(O&M) Specialists can continually monitor how visually impaired cane users are progressing in their independent mobility training. This approach allows them to continue to collect cane usage data during instances when they cannot be with their visually impaired cane users during training.
(O&M) Specialists can follow the assignments given to the visually impaired cane users in the lesson remotely.
By analyzing the strengths and development sides of the visually impaired cane user through data, it can personalize the educational content for the needs of the visually impaired cane user.
Institutions can track the development of the independent movement of all the visually impaired cane users they teach based on data. They can measure how many visually impaired cane users they have served over the years and the positive impact they have created in the lives of these visually impaired cane users with all their stakeholders using a metrics driven approach.
